Shop Here: Make Good

Long before we were calling it a “makers’ movement,” a Golden Hill couple made a commitment to supporting local artisans. Sophia and Jon Hall opened their boutique, Make Good, in spring of 2008, with the vow to only showcase talent from San Diego and Tijuana. Recently, the shop won a $5,000 refresh courtesy of American Express OPEN and Etsy, designed by Rue magazine. Their newer, sleeker look even features design elements made by locals, like the shelving system crafted by the downtown-based Cheshire Salvage. Cheshire also used marine wood from an old barge that once floated in San Diego Bay to make the store’s new jewelry display. Here’s to keeping it in the SD family!
