CBD oil has grown in popularity as a pet supplement in recent years. CBD oil, derived from hemp, boasts a long list of proven advantages for our four-legged companions, including relief from anxiety, discomfort, and seizures. Although veterinary research is still in its early stages, specialists have discovered intriguing findings in preliminary trials that suggest CBD may even help dogs fight cancer and support the nervous system.
CBD oil has been promoted not only as a good therapy for people but also for our pets. Since dogs have an endocannabinoid system similar to humans, they can also benefit from CBD. This involves helping with emotional distress like anxiety to physical diseases. Pet owners have been amazed by how this natural alternative has been able to help their pets. The origin of the Pet Hemp Company has a heartwarming tale behind it. The owner’s family dog, Woody, was detected with a tumor. After various drugs failed to help Woody, they started giving him CBD. This had allowed him to get back on his feet and enjoy his life — at least for the rest of his days. After their beloved dog died, the family decided to continue their work and develop CBD products for other dog owners. The firm is still expanding and has a lot of potential.
It is simple to select things for oneself, but not for dogs. You want goods that are THC-free, natural, and offer relief. Fortunately, Pet Hemp Company recognizes the difficulties in locating high-quality goods for your dogs.
As a result, they have a wide selection of vegan-friendly CBD products devoid of THC, preservatives, gluten, wheat, animal byproducts, artificial colors, and non-GMO ingredients. The brand also analyses its goods in third-party labs to ensure that they are safe for your beloved dogs.
The hemp from which the oil is derived is cultivated and processed in the United States. It is infused with organically farmed superfoods. NuLeaf Naturals has been providing high-potency, full-spectrum CBD oils for humans and dogs since 2014. It only works with organic hemp plants cultivated in Colorado and watered with “pure Rocky Mountain water.” NuLeaf is one of many major CBD producers that operate on a “seed-to-shelf” basis, which means they have influence and supervision throughout the manufacturing process. This produces an incredibly rich full-spectrum product with no additives.
When assessing a CBD brand’s reputation, keep in mind that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not guarantee the safety and quality of any over-the-counter (OTC) CBD products. However, if a company violates the standards or makes unsubstantiated health claims, the FDA can act by sending the company a warning letter. NuLeaf Naturals has not received any FDA warning letters or has been the subject of any litigation.
NuLeaf employs third-party lab testing to assure product quality, giving consumers confidence that their products contain a healthy blend of cannabinoids and terpenes. Their dedication to product quality has resulted in a big following of dog owners, with over 20,000 highly rated customer reviews and counting. NuLeaf Naturals is cGMP-certified.
Value for money: The price for a high-potency, full-spectrum CBD product manufactured exclusively for animals is fair, ranging from $0.08 to $0.10 per mg of CBD, depending on the bottle size. While this is comparable to the market average for CBD oils for pets, it is more expensive than the NuLeaf Naturals products marketed for people.
CO2 extraction: The firm employs a sophisticated subcritical and supercritical CO2 extraction method. Rather than employing any alcohol or solvent, this extraction method gets CBD from hemp using carbon dioxide. No chemical residue is left behind.
Hemp source: NuLeaf Naturals’ CBD pet oil is created from Colorado-grown organic, non-GMO, industrial hemp.
Great customer service: Positive feedback on the website praises everything from the product’s quality and effectiveness to the speedy shipment and sturdy packing. NuLeaf Naturals’ return policy is explicitly stated on the website, stating that new, unused, and unopened items may be returned for a full refund within 30 days of delivery. Customers must, however, pay for return shipping.

The CBDistillery was created in 2016 to produce high-quality and reasonably priced hemp-derived CBD products for the general market. Its tinctures are all US Hemp Authority-certified, third-party tested, and come with a Certificate of Analysis (COA). The CBDistillery’s full-spectrum CBD Pet Tinctures have a basic ingredient list of cold-pressed hemp seed oil and CO2-extracted CBD.
You can acquire high-quality CBD oils for your pet at a reasonable price from CBDistillery. The company makes it possible by using the greatest extraction procedures to create full-spectrum CBD pet tinctures. The brand provides numerous potency options. At the very least, you may now select the best CBD oil based on the potency requirements.
In general, using hemp seed oil helps increase the rate at which organic CBD pet medicine is absorbed into the pet’s circulation. The company also uses full-spectrum CBD extract, which increases the advantages of CBD use in dogs. You may also view the laboratory findings for these goods. A lab report is available for each product.
CO2 Extraction: The CBDistillery creates its full-spectrum CBD oil using CO2 extraction, the industry’s best method for producing a clean, impurity-free hemp product. Using this process and non-GMO industrial hemp sourced from farms in the United States, the brand can make oil that performs well in independent lab tests.
Value for money:CBDistillery makes its pet oils available in two strengths — 5mg and 20mg — allowing owners to tailor doses to their dog’s size, weight, and requirements. When you choose the weaker formulation, the cost per milligram of CBD drops practically by half, from 13 cents to 7 cents.
Perfect potency for pets: This is a pet product with a medium potency. Pets are significantly smaller than people. Thus, their CBD requirements are lower. Therefore, it is critical to match the potency of your CBD oil to the size of your animal. This oil is available in two strengths: 150 mg (suitable for small dogs and cats) and 600 mg.

Joy Organics was founded in 2018 by a woman named Joy Smith and her family. She learned about CBD after experiencing problems with pain and sleep and wondered whether it could help her. She was obsessed with discovering effective products and finally decided to create her own. Joy Organics now sells various CBD products using both broad- and full-spectrum hemp extracts. Its goods are third-party evaluated, certified organic, and well-liked by customers.
Joy Organics’ CBD oil is derived from a broad-spectrum extract containing mostly CBD and just a little CBG. Cannabigerol (CBG), a secondary cannabinoid, has been demonstrated to increase the anxiety-reducing and muscle-relaxing effects of cannabis infusions. Joy Organics’ extraction is also THC-free, making it an excellent choice for the tiniest, lightest, and most sensitive puppies.
Using olive oil as a carrier for CBD is an odd choice, as it entails foregoing the rapid absorption of fatty acid-rich oils like MCT and hemp seed oil. However, we recognize that Joy Organics uses organic extra-virgin olive oil. Certain dogs may be more open to the flavor of olive oil.
No strong smell: There are various CBD oils for dogs that compare in terms of usefulness for the pet, but this one has one distinct advantage for pet owners: it is odorless. Many other pet tinctures are flavored (typically with a combination of meat and vegetables) and can have a strong odor. This tincture has no odor and is simple to administer.
Value for money: The 30 ml bottle of CBD contains 250 mg and costs just $35. It contains around 31 doses at approximately 8 mg each dosage. Each dose costs roughly $0.70 for a tiny dog, and the bottle lasts for 50 doses. This tincture costs $0.14 for 1 mg of CBD, which is on the low end of the pricing range for this kind of CBD medication for dogs.
Easy to use: The Joy Organics CBD Oil Tincture for Dogs, Cats, and Pets is light gold and thin enough to be measured out in single drops. Four drops contain roughly 1.1 mg of CBD, making it simple to build a CBD regimen based on the pet’s breed, size, and health.

When making this list, we considered several aspects. We interviewed hemp industry executives, experts, and employees to learn more about what makes a brand effective.
Then, we looked for consumers on social media to see what they had to say about their favorite items and how their pets were reacting to them. We reviewed consumer complaints, looked at these companies’ ratings, and watched YouTube videos.
A business with nothing to hide will be transparent and honest with its customers. So, if a brand has undergone third-party lab testing, its products are more likely to be of high quality. Another thing we considered is a brand’s overall reputation.
We chose factors that we believe are excellent indicators of safety, quality, and transparency. Here are some of the points we considered:
Industry experts’ opinions
Third-party lab test data
Feedback from genuine consumers, influencers, and notable media, including websites such as Reddit, YouTube, and Twitter
Manufacturing and farming practices
Finally, we either tested the product ourselves or sought the advice of people who had. This gave us a comprehensive insight into where each brand sat.
When choosing which CBD brand to buy a product from, there are several important factors to examine in a brand. The first question is whether the brand is speaking the truth. Transparency in lab testing is the simplest approach to determining whether a brand is trustworthy.
We covered all the traits that set a company apart from the competition. With all the advantages and disadvantages of each brand, you must decide which of our top CBD oil suggestions is best for your dog.
#1. Brand Transparency
Any brand worth buying from will have a certain level of openness. This covers laboratory findings, prices, agricultural techniques, locations, and even online presence and reputation. Examine social media reviews to determine whether they respond to queries and can back up all their statements about the impact of their product and where it comes from.
#2. Source of Hemp
CBD products for your pet should always be created from the highest-quality hemp plants. The quality of the hemp plant is critical since many businesses use low-grade plants and expect you to pay a premium for hemp goods.
We learned where the firms get their cannabis to make CBD dog treats and CBD products. It is important to consider whether it is cultivated indoors or outdoors and how they handle their crops, i.e., use of pesticides or herbicides, hand-picking or machine picking of flowers, etc.
Furthermore, the type of environment in which the hemp is cultivated and the length of time the farm has been in operation have an important influence.
We also searched for a typical set of characteristics that anyone looking for hemp should look for, such as whether it is cultivated organically or comes from all-natural sources.
#3. Potency
A CBD product’s potency is usually measured in milligrams (mg). It is essentially the product’s strength; the higher the milligram per volume, the stronger the dose. The same is true for other CBD oil components, such as CBG and melatonin, which help humans sleep.
Their weight will decide the dose for your dog. Most dog-specific brands will provide recommendations depending on small, medium, or big breeds. There are several exceptions, such as pets with extremely severe chronic diseases. If you intend to give your dog CBD regularly, consult your veterinarian first.
#4. Price
CBD oil isn’t inexpensive, whether it’s for a pet or a human. That’s not to suggest you can’t locate a decent deal. The majority of monthly dosages will cost at least $1 each day. The advantage is that you’re paying a set price for value rather than selecting based on numbers.
#5. Extract types
CBD oils can come from three types of extracts. Although various DIY techniques have been used for some time, the most typical extracts you’ll find include:
Isolate
Isolation is the process of removing all the hemp plant components to leave only CBD. This approach is popular because it includes no THC (the psychoactive component in marijuana that causes you to become “high”) and provides an experience that some people prefer by containing solely CBD.
Broad-Spectrum
Broad-spectrum CBD is a minimally processed CBD that contains zero THC. It also frequently hosts various components of the cannabis plant, creating an “entourage effect” that many say enhances the experience. This is an excellent middle ground between isolate and full-spectrum CBD, the least processed form of CBD.
Full-Spectrum
Full-spectrum CBD goes through the least processing and has the most natural plant particles. Full-spectrum oils are preferred by CBD fans who want to get the highest entourage effect. Full-spectrum oils contain less than 0.3% THC.
#6. Customer Support
While it’s common for consumers to focus on customer service when they need it, it’s critical to establish long-term relationships. We often backcheck using response rates and staging situations to verify that you’re receiving a fair share. But reading about other people’s experiences may serve a similar function.
A: CBD is safe for all animals. Veterinarians have advocated CBD oil as a low-cost alternative to conventional drugs. If your pet consumes too much CBD, the worst-case scenario is that they will fall asleep, vomit, or have diarrhea. These conditions, however, are uncommon when given appropriately. If your dog suffers from a persistent or chronic ailment, you should first consult your veterinarian.
A: While you may not need their advice if you use CBD sparingly with your dog, it is always good to speak with a professional if you want to give it CBD daily. It’s a good idea to double-check that it won’t react with any present ailments or that there are any extra precautions you need to take. Although professionals have extensively researched CBD, it is still a relatively new topic and, as such, should be approached with caution. Ultimately, the objective is to improve, which will need some work.
A: When deciding on the best CBD oil for your dog, consult your veterinarian, who is familiar with your dog’s medical history. You should always update your veterinarian on any supplements you give your dog. They can guide you in the right direction, especially if your dog has a known allergy or intolerance to any components usually included in CBD oils.
When selecting the correct CBD products after consulting your veterinarian, you should examine the concerns your dog is experiencing and its size and temperament. Some CBD oils are designed to address specific conditions, like pain or anxiety. So, be sure you pick a product that addresses your dog’s ailment. If your dog dislikes taking medicine, you should seek CBD oils that come in a delicious taste that they will be more likely to take. Make certain that the CBD you buy is of the appropriate concentration for the size of your dog. The amount of CBD oil you give your dog is determined by the amount of CBD in the product, which should be listed on the label.
All the CBD products on our list have dosage instructions, but if you’re unsure, ask your veterinarian how many milligrams of CBD you should take.
A: Dogs have an endocannabinoid system comparable to humans. CBD can help manage many of the symptoms people experience, such as anxiety, pain, and other neurological or physical difficulties. CBD oils also help canines fall asleep or get a heartier appetite.
CBD is an alternative therapy used by many dog owners to help with extremely aggravating or nervous moments (such as at bedtime or if there is a loud noise like thunder or fireworks). As July 4th is approaching, you will hear fireworks in the immediate vicinity. When firecrackers make your dog quiver or hide in fear, it’s a good idea to use CBD oil to relieve your dog’s anxiety. Regular use is common among those who have dogs that suffer from chronic pain or anxiety, particularly when an owner departs for work or if the dog has previously been in an abusive situation.
A: When you give your dog the correct dose, it will likely not experience any negative effects. Side effects are more common when the dose is excessively high, and they may include some symptoms such as a decrease in saliva production. As long as they have access to fresh water throughout the day, it’s a minimal side effect you may not even notice. CBD oil may temporarily lower blood pressure since it can help relax a pet, particularly a very agitated one.
A: Yes, a dog can consume excessive CBD by accident. For example, if your dog swallows the entire contents of the CBD oil container, it may encounter negative effects such as diarrhea or vomiting. In most situations, these side effects are minor and will go away on their own.
Call your vet at once if you suspect your dog has taken too much CBD. They will be able to examine the problem and advise you on the best course of action.
A: There are a few things to keep in mind while giving CBD oils to dogs. First, ensure that the CBD oil is kept in a cold, dark area. Heat and light can degrade the cannabinoids in the oil, reducing its effectiveness.
It is also critical to keep CBD oil away from your dog’s food and water bowls. If your dog takes too much CBD oil, it could hurt his overall wellbeing. As long as you follow these storage requirements, your CBD oil should be powerful and beneficial for several months.
It is only recently that scientists and health professionals have fully understood the beneficial effects of CBD. CBD oil for dogs may treat a wide range of conditions affecting a canine companion of any breed, health, sex, or age, and it is not known to have serious negative effects. It is readily accessible and reasonably priced. It’s also fully natural and harmless to both people and dogs.
When taken appropriately, high-quality CBD oil can be incredibly beneficial. That is why we made this list to help you select the best products for your dog. Although dogs are man’s best friend, CBD oil is also a close one. We hope that our guide leads you in the correct direction to ensure your dog’s long-term health.
One last piece of advice: CBD should be used with lots of exercise, sufficient sleep, and a healthy diet for your dog to get the most out of it. Don’t scrimp on the quality. Your pooch is also a member of your family.

Behind every beautiful space is a thoughtful process, and ASID San Diego is helping homeowners understand the value of professional design.
A perfectly designed home rarely happens by accident. Those kitchens that feel effortless and rooms that seem to tell a story the second you walk in? They’re usually the work of someone who knows exactly what they’re doing.
It’s knowing which ideas will actually work, which materials will hold up over time, and how to turn a collection of choices into a space that feels intentional. That’s where a professional interior designer comes in.
For the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) California San Diego Chapter, the goal is to help people see interior design as more than just the finished look. Behind every well-designed space is a process built on technical expertise. Designers are educated in everything from professional software and construction details to building codes, space planning, materials, and functionality.

“People don’t always realize how much goes on behind the scenes,” Kirsten Recce , current president of the ASID California San Diego Chapter, says. “Our designers are not just doing furniture placement and color selection and picking out new fluffy pillows. That’s not what they’re trained for.”
ASID members bring formal education, continued learning, and industry knowledge to their projects, helping create spaces that are not only beautiful, but designed to work. A paint color that changes completely depending on the lighting. A material that looks beautiful in a showroom but doesn’t make sense for everyday life. A layout that photographs well but doesn’t function for the people living there. These are the details where professional guidance can make all the difference.
Still, one of the biggest misconceptions about hiring an interior designer is that it’s reserved for massive renovations, luxury homes, or people who already know exactly what they want. The process can feel intimidating. Where do you begin? Is a designer worth the investment? What if you only need help with one room?
ASID’s answer: start with one hour.
ASID’s Spruce Up events break down one of the biggest barriers between homeowners and professional design: knowing where to begin. Held twice a year, the community program gives homeowners the chance to work directly with an ASID designer through a one-hour, $125 consultation in their own home. Whether you’re looking for advice on furniture placement, window treatments, kitchen and bath updates, remodeling ideas, vacation rentals, color selections or something else entirely, the upcoming September 2026 event offers an approachable way to get expert guidance before committing to a full project. Signups are open through Sept. 7, with consultations taking place Sept. 21 through Oct. 31. Proceeds benefit ASID San Diego’s educational and community programs. Register here!

“It’s a great opportunity for people who are in that exploratory phase,” Recce says. “Maybe they’re not sure they want to hire an interior designer yet, or they think it sounds daunting or expensive. This gives them a chance to discover what working with a designer is actually like.”
Design is personal. A good designer isn’t just creating a beautiful room; they’re helping create a space that fits the way someone lives.
“We’re a resource to all of San Diego County,” Recce says. “It doesn’t cost anything to pick up the phone and call and ask. We’ll answer.”
Follow ASID San Diego on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook for updates on upcoming events, or connect with the chapter directly at [email protected] or 619-548-8847.
A new program guides new moms through high-risk pregnancy and into the “fourth trimester”
Mai Vue was just 34 weeks pregnant when she delivered her baby. Her pregnancy had been complicated, and she’d had a recent second trimester pregnancy loss, which led to her receiving specialized care from Sean Daneshmand, MD, a Scripps Clinic perinatologist who oversees high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Daneshmand and his team took care of Mai during her pregnancy, through the birth of her healthy baby girl and beyond. Mai was part of a program Scripps launched to provide support to new moms in the weeks and months after delivery. The postpartum program, known as Scripps Health’s Fourth Trimester Continuum of Care, provides care for women with high-risk pregnancies to optimize their health after childbirth and reduce the risk of complications in future pregnancies. Scripps Clinic’s Mohs surgery center is one of the most sophisticated in the country.
It’s estimated that one in five people in the U.S. will develop skin cancer at some point in their lives. When you factor in living in a sun-soaked city like San Diego and the outdoorsy lifestyle that comes with it, that figure can jump to as high as one in three, which makes early detection and intervention all the more important. Dermatologists at Bighorn Mohs and Dermatology Center are using innovative imaging methods and advanced surgical techniques to diagnose and treat skin cancer. For certain cancers in sensitive spots, like the face, dermatologists perform Mohs surgery, removing skin tissue layer by layer until reaching healthy, cancer-free tissue. They also use a process called immunohistochemistry to view tissue samples taken during Mohs surgery in far greater detail than previous methods. Read more about how Scripps is advancing skin cancer care here.

Scripps Cancer Center helps an endurance athlete overcome his greatest challenge yet and get back in the race
When endurance athlete Isaac Sanchez learned he had cancer, he felt blindsided. He was healthy, surfed often and was training for an Ironman triathlon. But he had to put that on hold to undergo treatment. His physicians at Scripps Cancer Center developed a plan to treat the cancer in his tonsil and lymph nodes that included six-and-a-half weeks of near-daily radiation and weekly chemotherapy. He also worked with a Scripps Cancer Center dietitian to enhance his nutrition to promote strength and healing. Today, Isaac’s back to doing what he loves. Read more of his story here.

Scripps study shows that some patients may be able to taper their dose and maintain results
While glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agents have been used to treat Type 2 diabetes for more than 20 years, their recent emergence as weight-loss wonder drugs marked a new frontier in medicine. But their effectiveness has left some patients wondering what to do once they’ve reached their goal. Stopping the medication could mean regaining some, if not all, of the weight. A Scripps Clinic internal medicine physician recently conducted a small study of whether GLP-1 patients who had reached their goal weight could maintain that weight by taking their regularly prescribed injection every other week instead of weekly. Spoiler alert: 30 of 34 patients did. Read more about the study here and what that may mean as pharmaceutical companies roll out oral GLP-1s.

Innovative treatment could offer cancer patients new options with fewer side effects
Chemotherapy and radiation have long been considered gold standards of cancer treatment, but they can cause severe side effects. A promising new approach called theranostics—a combination of “therapeutics” and “diagnostics”—could offer patients with certain types of metastatic cancers new hope. It’s a two-step process that uses a drug that binds to specific receptors on cancer cells. Advanced imaging detects this radioisotope, allowing doctors to then use a second radioisotope that binds to the cancer cells and destroys them. Click here to learn more about how specialists at Scripps Cancer Center are using theranostics.
