How Water Sports Inspire a Scripps Oncologist’s Work (Dr. Teresa Longoria)

A Scripps Clinic oncologist shares her love of the water and how it parallels with her practice

A California native through-and-through, it’s no surprise that Teresa Longoria, MD, a gynecologic oncologist at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Cancer Center, grew up spending a lot of time in the water. Competitive swimming was Dr. Longoria’s first love, but she was also drawn to water polo. She says sports taught her to gain composure in many different types of situations, which helps her stay calm and collected in her practice. Water sports help Dr. Longoria feel her best, and that helps her provide that feeling to her patients. Read more about Dr. Longoria here.
