âThe Salk Institute celebrated its 20th annual Symphony at Salk concert at its campus in Torrey Pines. In collaboration with the San Diego Symphony, the outdoor concert raises funds for the institute’s scientific research efforts into cancer, Alzheimer’s, crop yields, and world hunger. This year’s event featured the jazz talents of Grammy Award–winning trumpeter Chris Botti, as well as guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli. Guests enjoyed a sunset Champagne reception and dinner before the show.
