Apartment Therapy: Ligne Roset

When space gets tight, invest in a signature piece that can multitask and make a big impact. Case in point: this sleek and slender convertible daybed. Designed by Pierre Paulin, it was part of the late Frenchman’s first collection, called Appartement Idéal (The Ideal Apartment), which debuted in 1953. Ligne Roset worked closely with Paulin’s wife and son on an exclusive reissue of select works, including a space-saving secretary desk that mounts on the wall. The minimalist pieces were originally considered ahead of their time, but still hold major style value today—not to mention practicality. Think of it as Christian Dior haute couture meets Ikea ingenuity. Happy lounging!
