Nearly 560 attendees filled the ballroom to celebrate the 47th Annual Mercy Ball. During the event, Scripps Mercy Cancer Center Medical Director William Stanton III, MD, was recognized for his 46 years of compassionate care with a donor’s gift of a $5 million endowed medical directorship. Scripps leaders, physicians, donors, and community volunteers gathered for the evening of dining and dancing at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in downtown San Diego.
The event raised $2.5 million to help fund the construction of the new state-of-the-art Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center on the Scripps Mercy Hospital campus. The new cancer center will provide the latest in treatments, research, and clinical trials, and other support services critical to patients and their families.
