Despite 30 percent fewer attendees at this year’s smaller venue (compared to last year), the Patrons of the Prado raised 25 percent more cash, including more than $40,000 for their “Bucks for Buses” program alone. The program helps transport children to the 11 Balboa Park arts and cultural institutions supported by the annual gala. Donors and guests at the “Passport to Adventure”-themed event also raised $3,000 per beneficiary in education funds, with major beneficiaries receiving a whopping $35,000 each.
