February 1:

Enjoy 28 days of arts and culture at a discount rate during Macy’s Museum Month, which offers half-price admission to more than 40 museums throughout the county all month long.

February 2:

Witness the power of cinema to support justice for all during the Human Rights Watch Film Festival at the Museum of Photographic Arts (through February 6).

February 4:

Steve Martin returns to The Old Globe with his hit play Picasso at the Lapin Agile, a comedy about Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein sparring over art, science, and love in early 1900s Paris (through March 12).

February 5:

With music by Tchaikovsky and choreography by famed dancer Marius Petipa, the Stars of the Russian National Ballet bring the tale of Sleeping Beauty to life at Balboa Theatre.

Celebrate wine and south-of-the-border eats during the Brunch Wine Bazar, hosted at Rancho La Puerta, the award-winning wellness resort in Tecate (transport provided from Mission Bay).

February 9:

Founded by alumni of the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Complexion Contemporary Ballet fuses hip-hop, contemporary, and ballet styles into one performance at California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

Vocalist Charenée Wade pays tribute to musical greats like Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson through jazz, R&B, and vocal improv at The Loft at UCSD.

February 11:

February 21:

The three-day Writer’s Symposium by the Sea returns to Point Loma Nazarene University, featuring panels with celebrated authors like U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky.

February 23:

A drama about one family’s attempt to recover a painful memory from the past, The Blameless debuts at The Old Globe (through March 26).

February 25:

Snack on the ultimate food and drink pairing during the Tater Tots and Beer Festival.

February 26:

Take in “the Vocal Wonder from Down Under,” otherwise known as The Ten Tenors, presenting their unique fusion of rock and opera at California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

Afghan singer Farhad Darya will take the Balboa Theatre stage for his first performance in San Diego.

February 28:
