Nowadays, it seems as if more and more San Diegans are looking toward social outings that exist outside of the bar setting, favoring health-focused, dopamine-boosting activities in communal spaces. If that sounds like you, we’ve compiled a list of social wellness groups that regularly meet across the city that will get your body moving, support your health goals, and introduce you to other like-minded people.

Wellthy Well

Driven by her family mantra, “health is wealth,” holistic nutrition and health coach Alysson Bluhm founded Wellthy Well, a social group for health-conscious individuals. The community gathers monthly for Walk & Talk meetups in the scenic Bird Rock neighborhood, and enjoys guided classes blending yoga, breathwork, and refreshing ocean dips. These coastal walks and events organically draw local wellness practitioners, fostering connections among those dedicated to increasing their well-being and building a supportive community. Drawing from her own experience seeking holistic health support, Alysson is also developing an online network of vetted practitioners to make this resource more accessible to all.

One Love Movement

With donation-based yoga classes and wellness events called Yoga for a Cause, One Love Movement is a great way to meet like-minded yogis while also giving back. Held at Kate Sessions Park, donations help raise funds and awareness for humanitarian aid and social justice efforts outlined on their website.

All Peers No Pressure

All Peers No Pressure fosters a supportive community for those seeking meaningful connections as their most authentic, sober, or sober-curious selves. The social club cultivates wellbeing by providing an inclusive space to meet like-minded peers and forge genuine friendships outside of a bar scene. Host Christina Horn promotes a safe and inclusive environment, with events like scenic hikes, chill bonfires, and invigorating outdoor yoga classes, meant to nurture our need to connect.

Serving Sundays

For those interested in taking the boundless energy of a nightclub into a wellness-curious space, Serving Sundays offers weekly social gatherings aimed at exploring mindfulness through joyful movement. Promising a unique community experience every time, you can expect Golden Hour yoga and breathwork classes, set to live DJ sets, that seamlessly blend into a free-flowing dance party. Show up with an open mind, put your headphones on, close your eyes, and drop into your body through the beat.

Grow Movement

Grow Movement takes an all-encompassing approach to wellness, focusing on internal growth, self-care rituals, and the importance of community toward reaching our physical and mental health goals. You’ll usually find the group practicing yoga together, taking educational workshops, setting the table for seasonal cuisine at supper club gatherings, and hosting women at their upcoming wellness retreat.

Mocktail & Mingle

Mocktail & Mingle understands the bar is high for fun events in San Diego, but they’re taking their events away from the bar itself. The social group curates experiences for sober and sober-curious folks, paired with a mocktail social hour to spotlight emerging NA beverages. From pilates classes, to sober singles dating mixers, and non-alcoholic happy hours, the only thing missing is the hangover the next day.

Matcha On Ice

If your vibe is an aesthetically pleasing and motivating sweat sesh followed by a caffeinated beverage with the girls, Matcha On Ice is the club for you. Beauty, movement, and intentional living flow through each Matcha On Ice gathering. After a guided yoga, Pilates, or HIIT class, attendees can connect, network, and explore pop-up shops by partnered brands, making for a full day of balanced living.

Past events have featured functional beverages and coffee drinks, beauty treatments, healthy supplements, or a quick sweat in a hot sauna.

Crave Community

Crave Community understands that making authentic connections through shared experiences is a rare occurrence in our fast-paced lives. That’s why they make it easy for you by creating unique wellness experiences, so you can show up as your authentic self, find like-minded people, and build a supportive friend group. Their pop-up events will either spark creativity or get your core burning, maybe both. The group holds weekly meetups called the Sweaty AF Club at the non-alcoholic bottle shop, Monday Morning, in PB, along with diverse monthly experiences like puppy yoga, fiery mat Pilates classes, or peaceful candlelit yoga.

Novo Dia Wellness is also behind San Diego’s first citywide wellness and lifestyle celebration, Wellness Week, coming July 14-19 across local studios, spas, gyms, and of course in its home base at the MCASD.

Wildly Sober

Wildly Sober is San Diego’s new social and sober-curious community, forged from a need to find a community who gets you. The group has already held a Firelight Friday bonfire on the beach, and is looking to host more sunshine-fueled meetups for fun-loving locals.
