BACKGROUND: Silvera is a fifth-generation San Diegan who began his career as an event planner and stylist. He eventually started his own firm in the Bay Area, SCOUT Design Group, which he recently expanded to San Diego.
BRUSH WITH GREATNESS: After a meeting with Martha Stewart, the hostess and design mogul called Silvera “one smart cookie.”
