San Diego Symphony’s annual fund-raiser and kickoff to the Summer Pops series, Tux ’n Tennies, was held at Embarcadero Marina Park South. This year’s theme was an ideal Southern California summer, with a tribute to the Beach Boys featuring the band Papa Doo Run Run. The evening began with a beach-themed cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres, live music, and vintage woodies and various activities to capture the magic of summer. Followed by dinner, the two-hour concert featuring Papa Doo Run Run saluted the Beach Boys. The event proceeds support San Diego Symphony’s music education and outreach programs.
