While Ni-Cheng Liang was training to become a pulmonologist, she learned all too well what it feels like to be a patient. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the second year of her fellowship. She underwent chemotherapy and surgery, and today she’s cancer-free. Her experience now helps her develop a deeper relationship with her patients, especially other cancer survivors.
