The La Jolla Playhouse 2016 Gala, chaired by Debby Jacobs, raised more than $1 million to support the theater’s new play development and education and outreach programs. More than 300 guests attended the sold-out event, which featured a moving tribute to the life, career, and legacy of Playhouse co-founder Gregory Peck in celebration of what would have been the acclaimed actor’s 100th birthday in April. The night included a seasonal dinner menu crafted by chef Jeffrey Strauss and paired with hand-selected wines, a private concert by David Bryan, and then culminated with dancing and desserts.
