The new Mod About You is tucked away on a quaint, tree-lined street in Mission Hills, and shares a space with Kettle & Stone coffee and tea. This hybrid concept is familiar to Mod’s owner, Kelley Towers, who previously had real estate in the now-shuttered collective VI Star in Little Italy. Towers, wife of former Padres GM Kevin Towers, has a penchant for midcentury modern (hence the store’s name), so expect funky ’60s home décor alongside chic Jonathan Adler candles, letterpress greeting cards, jewelry crafted by local designers, and haute baby brands like Milkbarn and Erbaviva.
