Ride With Emilio Campaign

All of March, this campaign wants to focus on preventing children from missing their cancer treatments due to lack of transportation. In December 2019, the Emilio Nares Foundation hit their one-million mile mark, serving 4,000 children who have cancer across Southern California. The Ride with Emilio Campaign will start on Monday, March 2 and the Ride Along Day for children battling cancer will take place on Friday, March 20.


March for Meals 5K Charity Walk

Put on your walking shoes this March 22 by coming to this free event put on by Meals on Wheels San Diego that will bring attention and support to San Diego’s senior population, as well as their furry friends, through their Animeals pet meal delivery program. Fundraising and donations for this event are encouraged in order to help those in need.

POSTPONED: 32nd Annual Peacemaker Awards Dinner

On TBD date, join the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) for their annual dinner to honor individuals and organizations dedicated to peacemaking in both their own neighborhoods and around the world. The proceeds of this event will help support NCRC’s work to provide the tools to help people, organizations and communities solve and manage conflict.

Casa de Amparo’s 24th Annual MEET THE CHEFS

Come to the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar on April 19 to enjoy some delicious wines paired with great food cooked by top San Diego chefs like Jeffrey Strauss from Pamplemousse and Alex Emery from Coastal Kitchen. You can purchase tickets here and the proceeds of the event will go toward supporting the children of Casa de Amparo in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month this April.

International Children’s Day Celebration

Dance, sing and celebrate with children from all different cultural backgrounds and learn more about their traditions on April 25. The Turkish-American Community of San Diego is hosting this free event in Balboa Park to share the appreciation of other cultures through music, dance and art.

Heart & Soul Gala

Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFS) will host its annual Heart & Soul Gala on April 25. The event will celebrate the contributions of its 2020 Mitzvah Honorees as well as HIAS, an international nonprofit that resettles refugees. Proceeds benefit the ongoing efforts of JFS to help provide resources and support to more than 39,500 San Diegans every year who are in crisis. Gala starts at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $200.

Golden Watchdog & Fleece Awards

The San Diego County Taxpayers Association will host the 25th installment of the Golden Watchdog & Fleece Awards on June 24. The winners will be announced at the dinner, which recognizes the best and worst in local government spending and decision-making in San Diego County.  The winners are selected by an anonymous committee, and nominations are open to the public and will close on May 16. Tickets start at $200.
