San Diego, CA – (December, 2013) San Diego Magazine, San Diego’s leading lifestyle publication, announces the addition of Tina Mickelson to the editorial team as the new Editor-at-Large and Local Golf Expert. Mickelson, a native San Diegan and sister to professional golfer, Phil Mickelson, is a world-class teaching professional, PGA Class “A” Member, nationally published author and writer, and can be seen in various programs on the Golf Channel.
Debuting in January, Mickelson will cover the city’s golf scene —from monthly print spotlights highlighting celebrity-recommended golf courses, event previews, trends, interactive video blog postings, and hosting social media Q&A’s with the magazine’s followers.
Mickelson’s print column will be featured in the magazine’s Move section, a new editorial addition that focuses on educating readers about nutrition, fitness, athletic events and tips from health experts. In addition, Mickelson will connect with readers through weekly blogs on SanDiegoMagazine.com and will lend her editing style and voice to the magazine as Editor of the 2014 Golf Guide, the annual special section inserted into the March issue of San Diego Magazine. She will curate all content and writers for the section.
Mickelson is currently the Golf Ambassador at The Santaluz Club in San Diego and the spokesperson for Women’s Golf for Callaway Golf. Previously, Mickelson was the author of “Professional Golf Tips with Tina Mickelson,” a column that provided golf tips to newspapers, periodicals, and websites worldwide from 2000-2008. She also worked as an editor with Dr. Deepak Chopra on his book, “Golf for Enlightenment.” Tina has been teaching golf since she graduated from the University of San Diego in 1991 and has had her PGA Class “A” membership since 1994. She has worked as an on course commentator for The Golf Channel on the Champions Tour, as well as for CBS Sports covering the LPGA Tour.
