From ski-themed soirées to elegant gala fundraisers and exclusive chef-driven dinners, February brings many opportunities to support meaningful causes in San Diego.

Dining for Disaster Relief

February 1-28

Several San Diego restaurants have united to support Los Angeles wildfire victims through the “Dining for Disaster Relief” campaign, which runs from January 15 to 31—the following restaurants have chosen to extend it through February. Participating establishments will donate proceeds from select menu items to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank‘s relief efforts. 

  • Coco Maya (Little Italy): Offering 50 percent of proceeds from their Chicken & Waffle dish.
  • PRK 101 (Carlsbad): Donating 50 percent of proceeds from the Chicken N Waffle Sandwich.
  • The Lobby Tiki Bar & Grill and Cococabana (Oceanside): Each contributing 50 percent of proceeds from their Chicken and Waffles dish.
  • Louisiana Purchase (North Park): Donating 50 percent of proceeds from the Drop Top Chicken Flock dish.
  • Miss B’s Coconut Club (Mission Beach): Offering 50 percent of proceeds from the Chicken & Waffles dish.

Pairings with a Purpose Dinner Party with Chef Travis Swikard

February 27

A one-night-only dining experience for a critical cause. Acclaimed chef Travis Swikard will close Callie for an exclusive multi-course dinner with expertly paired wines by sommelier Tracy Latimer. All proceeds benefit Feeding San Diego’s School Pantry Program, ensuring local kids have nutritious meals outside of school hours. The evening includes a live and silent auction and a paddle raise.

San Diego Museum Month

February 1-28

San Diego Museum Month returns with half-off admission to over 70 museums, zoos, gardens, and historic sites, organized by the San Diego Museum Council (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) and supported by San Diego Foundation’s Fifty & Forward Campaign, First 5 San Diego, the California Arts Council, and local arts organizations. Passes are free at 80+ local libraries via the Serra Cooperative Library System, with digital options available starting Feb. 1. From Birch Aquarium to Fleet Science Center, this is the perfect chance to explore San Diego’s cultural scene while supporting the nonprofits that make it possible.
