Start near Georgia Street and Polk Avenue. Cross over the recently reopened Georgia Street Bridge and do a loop through Balboa Park, passing over the Vermont Street Bridge on your way back.

It’s finally done! Restoration of this 104-year-old bridge had been promised for almost 10 years, and there’s no better way to scope it out than with an urban hike and scenic loop through Balboa Park.
Grab a salad, sandwich—consider the Cali Cubano—and macaroons at the new location of Big Front Door (4075 Park Boulevard, University Heightsâ) or go for a more upscale brunch at the nearby Great Maple (1451 Washington Street, Hillcrest).
