Casa Artelexia
3811 Ray Street, North Park artelexia
Following the success of Casa Artelexia in Little Italy, Elexia de la Parra has opened a sister shop in North Park. “I wasn’t even planning on a second location, but when I saw the opening on Ray Street, I decided that I needed to take it,” de la Parra says. “Something about the street, space, and neighborhood called to me.”
The newest casa brings all the same color and culture with a contemporary spin, more giftables, and a DIY piñata bar. Favorite offerings include the selection of bilingual children’s books and vibrant Otomi embroidery—plus teeny unicorn and metallic donkey piñatas that would up the cool factor at any fiesta. De la Parra sources her goods from all over Mexico, and has made her buying trips a travel opportunity for locals, leading weeklong culinary and craft tours to visit markets, meet vendors and artists, and more.
This month she’ll be continuing her Wine Wednesday craft workshops with a Valentine’s Day theme. Tickets are $20 per person.
