When San Diego native and FIDM-trained design student Alexandra Hall decided to open her first boutique, she took a unique approach: She wanted products specifically made outside San Diego. Her idea was to make harder-to-find clothing, accessories, and home items more accessible to San Diegans. For her new Normal Heights shop, Maven, 26-year-old Hall combined inspiration from the San Francisco and L.A. scenes with San Diego’s easygoing vibe. The result is an upscale, bohemian-meets-modern boutique filled with artisanal honey, MCMC fragrances, Charlotte Stone sandals, Cabbages & Kings children’s clothing, and more.
