Nina Doede, Deni Jacobs, and Sheryl White chaired The Old Globe’s annual fundraiser, attended by more than 380 guests. The “Summer Splendor” themed-evening began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, while guests were entertained by a surprise flash mob performance by Culture Shock Dance Troupe, San Diego’s hip-hop dance company. Attendees also heard an exclusive concert by Laura Benanti, known for her roles on Broadway in Gypsy and Into the Woods. Following the performance, guests enjoyed dinner and dancing to the music of the 13-piece band Midnight Special. The black-tie affair raised about $1 million for the theater’s artistic and educational activities.
