The fantasy lives on. Based on the 1997 animated film, Anastasia the musical comes to the Civic Theatre October 1–6. The story is inspired by the rumors that Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna survived the assassination of the Russian royal family after the Bolshevik Revolution. In real life, DNA tests debunked this theory, but the musical sees the fantasy through by following an amnesia-struck Anastasia, now named Anya, who falls in with two con men who promise to help her find her family and identity.
