Amanda Gumbert lets her work speak for her, even as awards and accolades continue pouring in. For nearly two decades, she has been the quiet force at the heart of SENTA Neurosurgery, balancing her role as senior physician assistant with mentoring new PAs and guiding clinic operations. “It’s about being there during some of the hardest moments of people’s lives,” she explains.
Gumbert takes pride in giving back to the San Diego community, making every patient feel seen, heard, and cared for. “I give patients my whole heart—my bedside manner, my love, my bubbliness. It really counts,” she adds. Her dedication is reflected in the fact that patients request her for surgeries and leave appointments with a hug.
“If I can pass on not just knowledge but empathy, then I’ve done my job,” Gumbert says, smiling.
