We’ll Always Have Paris: A Mother/Daughter Adventure cover
We’ll Always Have Paris: A Mother/Daughter Adventure is a funny, honest, sometimes kooky memoir by San Diegan Jennifer Coburn (out on April 8). Coburn decides to embrace YOLO (You Only Live Once) and take her daughter Katie to Europe. The first-timers enjoy a budget-conscious ride through Paris and London when Katie is just eight years old. Three successive trips follow as Katie grows: Italy, Spain, and finally Amsterdam and Paris. All the typical—and atypical—experiences go down, from being swindled by a Roman cab driver to being arrested for trespassing in a Paris playground. The author comes off somewhat timid for someone who grew up in New York City (warning: flashbacks abound). But to read the book is to experience Europe anew, and relive all the wonder that travel brings.
READ IT Coburn will donate her royalties from the first thousand copies pre-ordered to the American Cancer Society. Meet the author at the Adventures by the Book event on March 30 at St. Tropez French Bistro and Wine Bar in the UTC area.
Tickets $35. adventuresbythebook.com
