This is a banner year for our annual cover contest. Why? Well, first of all, the three creative agencies each submitted high-quality covers. And second, our in-house creative teams agreed with the voters on the winner.
We recruited three local companies to create covers for this month’s Best of San Diego contest and in just a few days received 600 votes.

This creative agency located between Midtown and Little Italy specializes in both print and digital media campaigns. They’ve worked with companies like Shure Microphones and San Diego’s Ballast Point Brewery.
The inspiration behind their design: Family, food, the beach, and sunshine. It was a natural for our team here at the agency. In a city that has it all, we wanted to capture one of those little moments that make San Diego special.

This downtown creative agency specializes in analysis and design for websites, apps, and other media. They’ve worked with companies like Qualcomm, Budweiser, and the House of Blues.
The inspiration behind their design: A San Diego Magazine cover from the 1920s, featuring a bird’s-eye view of the Port of San Diego. Our concept offers a modern version of the city skyline, including two new landmarks: Petco Park and the new Central Public Library. The airplane symbolizes the 50,000 passengers that fly into our beautiful city every day.

This downtown creative agency specializes in graphic design for both web and print campaigns. They’ve worked with companies like AT&T and Bing.
The inspiration behind their design: We wanted to represent the culture of our agency and how we experience the city in our day-to-day lives. While we all live in different neighborhoods to match our own personal lifestyles, working downtown enables us to discover the new spots that make our city unique, like Donut Bar and Magnolia.

The winner was the MiresBall!
With a few enhancements (moving the lifeguard tower, brightening up a cloudy day), we sent the sweet image off to the printer (which is in Idaho, by the way, in case you ever wondered).
