If more is better, then racetrack fans are in for a big treat! The California Horse Racing Board recently announced that there will be two racing seasons at Del Mar next year, now that Hollywood Park is closing. In the meantime, the track is hosting two beer fests this summer. The event on July 27 will feature 40 to 50 local beers, while “Hop-Fest” on August 31 will widen its scope to IPAs, with more than 100 brews available for tasting. Both fests will be catered by gourmet food trucks and located west of the grandstand, where fans will be within eyeshot of the gates and can watch the races on large screens. dmtc.com
