To celebrate 75 years of San Diego Magazine, each month in 2023 we’re recreating one of our iconic covers with contemporary artists and figures we admire. For our March issue, we asked artist Andrew McGranahan to help us reimagine a classic SDM cover from June 1962. He gave us a psychedelic take on La Jolla with selfies, big boisterous bloody marys, and even a little dog. McGranahan shares how he found his unique style, his inspirations, and more on his upcoming work.
