To celebrate the upcoming 36-day FIFA World Cup, North Park is bringing local restaurants, cafes, and bars together to transform the neighborhood into a fan zone for soccer lovers. Beginning June 12, the newly branded World Cup North Park group will air the “football” matches at various North Park haunts including Caffe Calabria, Waypoint Public, West Coast Tavern, Urban Solace, and Coin-Op Game Room. The festivities culminate July 13 in a free final match viewing party, which will be broadcast live on a Jumbotron in the neighborhood with stadium seating, food, beer, and live music. Bring your favorite team’s jersey—and your appetite.
