The Embarcadero has needed a jolt for a while, and they just got it with the opening of Carnitas’ Snack Shack. Chef-owner Hanis Cavin is a refugee of fine dining who struck gold when he opened his first pork joint in North Park. This space at the Embarcadero was highly sought after, loaded with thirsty dockside tourist traffic.
Cavin is serving his classics at the new locale, like the Triple Threat Sammy (schnitzel, carnitas, and bacon) and pork belly. But being waterside, they’ve added a mahi mahi fish taco, soft serve ice cream, and a full craft bar. With outdoor seating and 10,000 square feet, this’ll be the new hangout along the bay for a while to come.
