On NOFX’s latest album, First Ditch Effort, more than one song touches on the subject of sobriety. That hasn’t stopped the SoCal punk legends from staying involved in the beer scene—and yesterday singer Fat Mike announced the Punk in Drublic Craft Beer & Music Festival, hitting the West Coast this fall. To celebrate, the band is releasing a collaboration beer with San Diego’s Stone Brewing Co.
The Stone & NOFX Punk in Drublic Hoppy Lager will be available in cans at the festival as well as in local markets in the areas surrounding the concerts. (The closest location to San Diego is Huntington Beach, on October 28.)
“We’re super stoked on the beer,” says Steve Gonzalez, Stone’s senior manager of brewing and innovation. “It’s very heavily dry hopped, like most of the stuff we do, but pretty approachable at the same time. You’ll know it’s a big craft beer, and it tastes great.”

In a promotional move for the new beer, Stone invited Fat Mike to come help out with the brewing at the craft beer giant’s Escondido location on Monday. Wearing pink rain boots and a Stone Brewing beanie that covered up his signature pink Mohawk, the 50-year-old frontman got to do some ceremonial pouring and stirring.
“We know we’re crazy for letting Fat Mike in our brewery, but we’re doing it anyway,” says Greg Koch, cofounder of Stone Brewing. “Is independent craft beer punk rock? Very. And even more so now with this collab. See you in the pit!”
The Punk in Drublic Hoppy Lager will be released in September, and tickets for the first few festival dates go on sale this Friday, July 28.
