I’m From… Placerville, CA. Raised in Cameron Park, CA and moved to San Diego at the ripe age of 14. San Diego is definitely my forever home.
I started working for San Diego Magazine in… In 2012 when I photographed Eco-Friendly Bag Designer, Julie Rais Ellis.
I’m currently shooting… A little bit of everything! I make it a point to shoot every day and to stay open minded about the subject matter. I think it’s important to be diverse as a photographer in San Diego because there isn’t a huge market in one particular area of photography and it’s great to be good at it all!
A personal project I’m working on is… Mens fashion stories. I’ve always been one for pretty fashion images, but they usually focus around an interesting-looking woman. I’ve been enjoying breaking out and photographing men for a change. I love the androgyny you can play with in todays fashion market.
My favorite thing to shoot in San Diego is… My dog Bastian of course! He is my most loyal subject. You can spot him at #dailybastian on instagram.
The San Diego magazine assignment I am most proud of is… Our shoot at the home of Fiji Water Founder, Doug Carlson and his wife Annie. It was a challenge capturing all of the stunning architecture and fine detail of the idyllic Rancho Santa Fe home. I think we pulled it off and I couldn’t be prouder of the end result.
My favorite issue of San Diego Magazine is… The Get Outside Issue was great! I love exploring the city I live in and find it one of the most fun places to get out and see as an outdoor enthusiest. If you’re bored here, you’ve got a problem!
If I wasn’t a photographer, I’d be a… Singer/ songwriter. Music is such a huge part of my life and I really enjoy singing.
