GBOD Hospitality Group (Mezé Greek Fusion, Havana 1920, El Chingon, Prohibition, Monkey King and Mezé at Liberty Station), gave $17,500 to It’s All About The Kids® Foundation for the Feed The Kids Food Pantry holiday party. GBOD company leaders also personally served approximately 1,300 tacos and churros to 700 guests. Located in Barrio Logan, the Feed The Kids Food Pantry serves an average of 5,000 meals every week, and We Feed The Kids! is a program that fills in the weekend food insecurity gap.
U.S. Bank has awarded $5,000 to the San Diego Center for Children’s Music Enrichment Program. The Center will be able to offer each student enrolled for the 2018-2019 school year the opportunity to participate in this empowering music program. As part of its holistic therapeutic approach, the Center teaches kids all about music, allows them to experience the joy of creative expression, and build confidence. Students also learn communication and life skills such as listening and taking turns. The students who attend the Center’s Academy are between the ages of 6 and 21, and have been referred to by their local school districts because their mental health challenges are getting in the way of academic success.
