Coin Haus’s lineup includes 30 classic video games, from Donkey Kong and Frogger to Super Mario Bros., along with 50 self-serve taps and throwback snacks like Doritos and Funyuns. Or dine on sliders, flatbreads, and other dishes from BO-beau Kitchen + Garden next door.
Urge Gastropub and Common House
Bar food and bowling come together at this 21,000-square-foot gastropub, which opened this spring in San Marcos’s North City. Spearheaded by the brothers behind The Barrel Room and Mason Ale Works, Urge touts a brewery, a burger-heavy menu, and a Big Lebowski–themed bowling alley with eight lanes. You can walk in to play or reserve slots in one- and two-hour increments. We think it’s pretty great, but that’s just, like, our opinion, man.
The Deck at Moonshine Flats
The open-air deck next to honky-tonk Moonshine Flats mixes college-era shenanigans with traditional games—from oversized beer pong and flip cup to Ping-Pong and pool tables. It has a chill backyard feel with a barbecue menu to match. Wings, tri-tip sliders, and brisket fries are popular, and the space has multiple bars with craft beer and cocktails served in mason jars or big red cups. Go ahead, give it the old college try.

This arcade eatery, which debuted in North Park in 2013, is lined with all the hallmarks—Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, Skee-Ball, and more—and their new Gaslamp location boasts more square footage, more games, and a re-created ’80s-era bedroom (with Smurf bedsheets) where you can play video games. The menu is big on shareable bar bites and cocktails developed by Craft & Commerce vet Michele Willard. Bonus: All games are free the last Sunday of every month.
