The evolution of University Heights continues with the opening of Madison, joining Small Bar, Park & Rec, and Plumeria as standout new spots on Park Boulevard. For Madison, the owner of Fluxx nightclub took over the former Lei Lounge and turned it into a funky yet warm, geometric interpretation of the Victorian era. Chef Mario Cassineri (BiCE) designed the menu (there’s been a gravlax sighting!), and craft cocktails include the Jungle Bird, a tiki riff with Cruzan Black Strap Rum, Campari, pineapple juice, lime, and demerara syrup. Whereas Lei Lounge was like dining in Tahiti, this is like dining in a London Underground station made of warm woods.
