The Red Door Offers VIP Access with Its New CSR Program

You can have a stake in the farm-to-table eatery, thanks to their community-supported restaurant initiative. Plus, a "farm-to-glass" bar opens next door.

Following the model of community-supported agriculture, Trish Watlington has relaunched her Mission Hills farm-to-table eatery The Red Door as a community-supported restaurant. With a financial stake in the restaurant, members receive invites to private dinners, garden tours, cheesemaking classes, and more. Watlington also converted the Wellington Steak and Martini Lounge next door into Bar by Red Door.

The new space takes the focus off of beef, yielding a more eco-friendly carbon footprint by serving drinks with fresh veggies and fruits from her own Mount Helix farm. We recommend the Strawberry Door, with fresh berries, handmade organic lemonade, vodka, and soda water; and the Agua Fresca, with muddled blackberries and tequila. See? It’s actually easy being green.
