Outdoor lifestyle and adventure photographer Austin Trigg, along with his wife and some friends, set out in the thick of the summer heat to view the annual Perseid meteor shower. The 28-year-old La Jolla resident was able to capture this yearly phenomenon by shooting multiple images as meteors flew across the sky.
“I like to think this would be what your brain would perceive if you could leave your eyes open for a long period of time,” Trigg says. He took about 15 snaps and blended them together using Photoshop to create a composite of many meteors appearing at once. “I wanted to create an image that portrayed the entire scene of the meteor shower, showing the reality of how many were actually falling all around us.”
