Trail of the Month: Double Peak
Where
Start at Discovery Lake Park in San Marcos. Follow the wide path over a low bridge and then up into the hills above. Take the newly laid trail and watch for Double Peak trail signs to reach the summit.
Why We Love It
The trail reopened in March after the area was burned in the May 2014 wildfires. San Marcos has refurbished the path with new gravel and rail guards. Hike it now to see nature in action, as new growth begins to bloom from under the scorched earth.
