Many assume sunset is the most picturesque moment of the evening, but according to Vista-based photographer Nathan Valenzuela, “the second the sun dips below the horizon, that’s when things can get really good with color, especially if there are clouds.”
Valenzuela’s wife had given him a new camera lens for their anniversary and to christen it, she suggested they venture to Sunset Cliffs. The particular bluff where they were standing was overwhelmed with crowds, so Nathan asked her to walk to the next point and down to the cliffs. “She’s such a good sport,” he says. “I just waited until I saw a wave crashing and fired a couple images.”
