The Westgate Hotel’s newly revamped rooftop is home to a jazz series on Thursday nights with drink specials by the pool. Also going strong this summer are the classic jazz spots the US Grant (live acts on Thursday–Saturday in the lounge) and Croce’s Park West at its new location in Bankers Hill. Seven Grand hosts a jazz jam session every Wednesday night in North Park (and has a 10+-page whiskey menu) and Cusp, atop Hotel La Jolla, is hosting live jazz during dinner on Thursday nights all summer. With so much jazz all over town, we’re thinking everyone’s favorite trumpeter, Gilbert Castellanos, will have to clone himself to keep up with demand.
