The Scott Gets a Refresh in Old Town Scottsdale

Take a trip to Arizona to visit the revamped desert retreat

A trip to Arizona inevitably means red rocks and sky-high cacti, but now you can get flavors of Cuba, Germany, and Spain, too. Thanks to a $15 million refresh, The Scott in Old Town Scottsdale recently unveiled updated public areas and guest rooms.

Design influences range from Spanish Mission-style architecture and Saltillo roof tile to the Bauhaus minimalist movement via utilitarian finishes and geometric patterns. Most notable is the new Canal Club restaurant, where the decor is inspired by 1930s Havana—vibrant woven textiles and lush indoor greenery—and the menu of Cuban eats includes smoked meats with plantains and rum-heavy cocktails.

Next up, a revamp of more guest rooms and suites, plus a swanky Presidential Suite slated to debut this summer.
