It’s low season in the artsy San Miguel de Allende, a two-hour drive from León, Mexico. One of San Miguel’s newest places to stay is Hotel Nena, a boutique property with just six suites, a restaurant, and a “sky lounge and pool bar” boasting vistas of San M (that pink spire-happy church in the distance is La Parroquia). Nena, in fact, just landed on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2013 Hot List (Best New Hotels Under $300). Go for the good rates, and if you’re there this month, buy tickets to the International Chamber Music Festival running through August 17. And for the TEDx addicts—you know who you are—TEDxSanMigueldeAllende 2013’s FUTURE: NOW is August 2. But, a warning: We think Ted talks in Spanish. Just sayin’.
