Where
Start at the Chollas Lake Recreation Center on College Grove Drive in Oak Park and head either direction on the trail around the lake. You’ll quickly reach the other side and can then take the dirt path that traces the rim of the park around open space and a baseball field. Connect back onto the lake trail and follow it to where you started. It’s a short trip, so consider adding another loop or two.
Why We Love it
Although it has some uneven terrain, this trail is certainly manageable even for inexperienced trail runners. It’s flat and short and stays mostly on smooth ground.
Where to Refuel Afterwards
Get everything from biscuit sandwiches to vegan tempeh Reubens at Nate’s Garden Grill (3120 Euclid Avenue), which also has a hefty list of local craft beers and pleasant patio seating.
