For those who believe the wilderness should come equipped with hot showers and custom furniture, a new twist on backwoods vacationing is just the ticket. San Francisco-based Shelter Co. will travel and construct campsites anywhere clients ask. The core provision—a luxury, European-style tent—spans 15 feet in diameter and comes stocked with a full bed and range of furniture carved personally by co-founder Mike Sheofsky. Other amenities run the gamut from restrooms, wine tastings, and catering to childcare, boat rentals, organic toiletries, and more. One tent rents for $750 per weekend, but the company requires campers to spend a $2,000 minimum. So by all means, add on those luxe amenities and bring the whole fam. shelter-co.com
