Yet another L.A.-based fitness craze has made its way to San Diego. Located on the top floor of Boulevard Center, the recently renovated strip mall on El Cajon Boulevard, Pop Physique’s first San Diego studio is so L.A., featuring a chic black-and-white color story with hot pink accents.

The brainchild of former pro ballerina Jennifer Williams, who opened the first Pop Physique studio in L.A.’s Silver Lake neighborhood in 2008, the Pop Physique method combines elements of barre, yoga, Pilates, and ballet for a one-hour sesh (set to pop jams, of course) that will have you shaking in your socks. That’s right, no shoes allowed at Pop Physique: just socks. And it’s the micro-bends and movements that provide the burn… and the sculpting. Rumor is that one class burns 500 calories, and long-term results include improved posture, flexibility, strength, and tone.

New locations are expected to pop up in Hillcrest, La Jolla, or downtown soon. 2859 El Cajon Boulevard, North Park
