The Copley-Price Family YMCA is taking fitness to new levels. The City Heights athletic and community center recently unveiled a rooftop gym built by San Diego–based company Aire Fitness, which turns old shipping containers into customized, portable outdoor fitness studios. With the newly repurposed rooftop comes free weights, tractor tires, and heavy ropes, as well as space for outdoor classes like TRX, boot camps, and HIIT—all in the great outdoors. The gym is the first of its kind in the country, and is also equipped with solar panels for total self-sufficiency. Now that’s pretty powerful.
